Harrachov, Hiking in forest

The evergreen forests of Krkonose National Park in Harrachov, CzechiaThe yellow field with wooden houses in Harrachov, Czechia

The wonderful morning with amazing view on the mountain, skies and forests.

The breakfast is various, and this time I do not count the calories, because I am going to walk a lot.

The forecast says, it will be raining. But I am prepared for such "disaster", because I have with me a waterproof jacket. And honestly, this rainy disaster is the reason, why I came here, basically I moved here in search of the coolness.

Looking out of the balcony I already know, in which direction I will go to explore the surroundings. Basically, I am going to do some forest hiking (which is the favourite outdoors activity of Czech people).

During my walking, I have met only three pairs of tourists (or maybe locals). I hope I will not get lost, because nobody will help me get out, and mobile network is not stable here, in the wood.

My main goal of today's big walking is reaching the waterfall Kamenice, which is hidden somewhere deep in the forest (on the map it is around 2.8 kilometres from my hotel). But, of course, I have a digital map, so I am not completely "blind".

And here is the first nice waterfall cascade I have met. But it seems to be artificial. And it could be created for prevention from the floods because of the too active river. Still, this fact does not make the waterfall less beautiful.

And now I have noticed and picked up some wild blueberries (called "boruvky" in Czech) on my way. Honestly, from supermarket it tastes better :-)

I was trying to reach the waterfall. But unfortunately, I was not astonished by its look. Maybe, the map was showing the location wrongly, but most probably the waterfall Kamenicka is just a gentle sliding sheet of water, and does not look as spectacular as the Mumlavsky Vodopad, which I have visited yesterday.

I think, after such a nice hiking I deserved some sugary treat. To my opinion, the Pavlova dessert is the best dessert of all times, and I am happy to find it in the local coffee place!

Oh, and these mountain carts look like a very interesting entertainment. You get towed up the ski slope on off-road tricycles and steer your way back down the grass runway, only with gravity. And it does not feel to be dangerous. However, I have not tried it. Maybe next time.

Another amusing activity for summer here is the bobsleigh. The description is following: a 1000 meters long stainless steel toboggan run, featuring 17 twists and turns. They claim,  you can control your own speed, reaching up to around 65 km/h. Also, maybe next time I will be more brave to try it.

At the moment, my favourite activity is just walking. You should know, that it is even healthier than jogging.

It is time for dinner now. The food is delicious, as it was yesterday, and I can see some new items as well.

One Nespresso coffee at the balcony. And I am ready for another walking tour around the town.

Such an idyllic picture of peace and calm. The artists should come to this place for inspiration and capture the beauty of these landscapes by all means!

Well, Harrachov is the perfect point of destination who wants to be closer to nature and at the same time to have the access to the developed infrastructure. Definitely, I want to come back here. And I think that the best season for me here is summer, because I expect in winter there would be much more people here, and secondly the forests are not walkable in colder times.
