Roma, Eternal Beauty

This is my second visit to Roma. And I strongly believe that it will be not the last time when I come to this eternal city. I am endlessly in love with architecture, history, art, beauty and unique atmosphere of the place. Can you imagine that the city is 2775 years old?!

So, we arrived by plane from Prague, and then took the train to the city centre, from where we had underground and some walk to our hotel San Giovanni.

Surprisingly for me, the hotel turned out to be very good, and I am absolutely satisfied with the amenities and personnel there.

To my delight, at this time I have a companion, who I will observe the sights with. Somehow I will be a guide for my friend, because I have already visited the city before, and I can orientate myself here quite easily. Of course, I have not seen all remarkable places in Roma, so for me the new discoveries also will happen for sure.

One of the sights which I have not hit during the previous trip, is the Colosseum. So, for the start we headed there. To say briefly, it is impressive. Just for the information, it is the largest ancient amphitheater ever build, and it is still the largest standing amphitheater in the world. Unfortunately, we did not enter inside, but it will be certainly done during the next visits to Roma.

The second miraculous sight is the Trevi Fountain. Definitely, it is worth visiting at the evening when the illuminations are turned on.

Such a nice beginning of our exciting journey. There will be two more full days of staying here, and I am pretty sure, that with my co-traveler it must be a blast.

Karlovy Vary, Spiritual

After yesterday food festive I should eat only healthy food! So, my breakfast was very light and quite ascetic.

When going out I surprisingly noticed a rainbow over the river Tepla. Such a good sign for me... 

Actually, I am going to see an Orthodox church in Karlovy Vary. Such a beautiful and spiritual place to visit.  As usual, when coming to a church, I have lighted the candles and asked the Almighty the health for my close people and peace in the world.

My trip to Karlovy Vary comes to the end, and tomorrow I am going back to Prague, from where I will start another exciting journey. But it will be another story...

Karlovy Vary, Birthday

Happy birthday to me! At the hotel they prepared for me a small birthday cake. It was so nice of them. Anyways, I am going to continue this special day at swimming pool, with some spa procedures and of course eating good food and drinking good wine during the day.

I am one year older today, and maybe mineral water will help me stay younger. So, I have visited many springs in the city and tried the most suitable water for my health.

Another dessert in the emblematic café Elephant. So much sugar in one day, but I have a real excuse for that :)

Changing the clothes for another outing and food experience...

Absolutely satisfied by the time I have spent today, I am slowly walking back to the hotel, where another dinner is already waiting for me.

PS. It is becoming a tradition to celebrate my birthday in Karlovy Vary. Because exactly one year ago I stayed in this city as well.

Karlovy Vary, Spa activities

The breakfast is very good at the hotel, but I am trying to choose only healthy food, because I do not want to gain any extra weight,

When arriving to the hotel, I have a kind of 'full package' with meals during the day and some relaxing procedures. So, I want to believe that I would get not only mental, but also physical rest.

The distinctive feature of the hotel is the presence of the open-air swimming pool with regular and mineral water. Moreover, I have the access to the different types of  saunas, located in the hotel. Very nice indeed!

I also pushed myself to go out and observe a little bit the city.

Such a relaxing day, and mostly I have spent it at the hotel. I promise, that tomorrow it will be more active.
